During the holidays we often think of presents, parties, and lots of food and drink with friends. But it's also an important time to think of those in need, and the people and organizations who spend all year helping the less fortunate. This season, Perlick teamed up with the United Way, one of the world's largest non-profit organizations, to help do our part in giving back to our local community here in the Milwaukee area.
The United Way's mission is to advance the common good in communities across the world, with a "focus on education, income, and health, the building blocks for a good quality of life." Giving back is a core value of the Perlick Corporation, and our team of generous, caring employees jumped at the opportunity to help put together an amazing week in support of some of our favorite charitable organizations. Here's a brief recap of the events:
PLEDGE DAY & RAFFLE
Perlick United Way Week started off with Perlick employees submitting their own United Way Pledge Forms with charitable contributions. There was also a chance to enter a raffle drawing, with raffle items that included tickets to a Milwaukee Bucks home game, golf packages, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball tickets, gift cards, and other prizes. It was a great way to kick off a fun week!
BAKE SALE
Day 2 was one of the tastiest, as the Perlick Bake Sale was held to raise money for organizations like the YMCA, Boys & Girls Club, and more. Employees were invited to bring in their own delicious baked goods to sell, which in turn led to direct donations to these charities.
HYGIENE DAY
On Wednesday, volunteers spent a portion of their day helping pack hygiene kits for the Boys & Girls Club. Everything from soap and deodorant to toothbrushes and toothpaste were donated by employees and packed into new backpacks that would be delivered in time for the holidays, complete with a holiday message from one of our Perlick employees. It was a great opportunity to help provide essentials to kids in the area who need it the most.
BRATS & HOT DOGS
It wouldn't be a week in Wisconsin without a Brat Lunch, and this week was no different. Volunteers cooked up some juicy bratwursts and hot dogs for lunch, and all proceeds from the lunches were added to the growing donations for the week. There was even a special Perlick bundle to purchase, complete with a brat and some Perlick swag!
HAPPY HOUR
We closed out a successful week of generosity from Perlick employees with a fun happy hour. Employees were invited to celebrate Perlick United Way Week with a couple cold beers, some hot pizza, and to find out who won the drawings for the number of enticing raffle prizes. It was truly inspiring to see our Perlick team unite together in support of the United Way and helping our local communities.

my husband owns a cabinet business, I have a cater business, we found this to be very interesting the fact that you would participate in the community this way, we love the idea. if your corporation will be doing the same or other activities like this in the Phoenix valley area to please reach out to us and if we could contribute by either volunteering or checking with our vendors to see what we can provide as offerings for give away's, or working with you to cater the food and drinks for the volunteers. we would love to open line of communication with your corporation.
